Three popular bands will be headlining East Aurora’s Borderland Festival later this year.
Early last week, the lineup for Borderland Music Festival was announced. At the top of the list are three popular indie groups: Vampire Weekend, Khruangbin, and Mt. Joy. This makes for the biggest setlist in the history of the local music festival, and can almost guarantee a crowd. The festival is scheduled to take place from September 12th through the 14th at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, just outside of Buffalo.
This announcement is exciting for several reasons. This festival marks Vampire Weekend’s first live show in the area since 2019. Furthermore, fans of Mt. Joy will be excited to see them following the release of their newest album on May 30th. Known for their exciting live shows, they will certainly be a group to look forward to at the festival.
Alongside these bands will be numerous groups from across the country. Such groups include Nathaniel Ratliff and the Night Sweats, The Teskey Brothers, The Wailers (originally associated with Bob Marley), and many others. Included in the festival are several local groups, including the Buffalo Brass Machine and Driftwood from Binghampton. As of now, there are a total of 25 acts announced, and more to come as the event gets closer.
This marks the seventh annual festival for Borderland, and has quickly grown to become one of the most popular in the area. Tickets are on sale now for an early discounted price, and will go up in the months to come. Buying early is recommended for anyone interested in seeing these acts.
